Modular buildings air conditioning
Air Conditioning Solutions (UK) Ltd are leading installers for air conditioning systems in modular buildings. Our recent completion of providing air conditioning for a temporary kitchen in a modular unit based at the West Thames College is a good example of the type of specialist expertise available to our customers.

The modular kitchen, canteen and classroom blocks are required for a period of approximately three years while the existing building undergoes significant refurbishment.
As a college it was essential that a good quality-learning environment be maintained with more significant ventilation being applied to the kitchen area. We were tasked with providing a solution that met these criteria and produced a design that involved a tightly packaged ducted system for the kitchen sitting on a Big Foot mounting system to protect the roofs integrity.
A Vent-Axia Turbo Prop Fan, was chosen as the main air propulsion unit as with its revolutionary contra rotating design provides up to 2 times the pressure characteristics over an equivalent length of that achieved in traditional long case axial fans and was an ideal part of the space saving design.
ACS’ own ductwork team designed and installed the kitchen ventilation system mounting it entirely on the building’s roof. Noise and possibly more importantly energy use were minimised by the adoption of a 3-phase inverter drive. A 45kw heater battery was also incorporated into the design as were safety devices to ensure he gas valves were closed if the extraction service was interrupted. Maintaining the energy efficiency theme 37 Mitsubishi Lossnay heat recovery ventilation systems were installed to provide a positive learning environment throughout both structures.
